Alamo Area Construction News - November 26

November 26, 2025

Thank you for standing with us as we continue transforming and preserving one of Texas’ most cherished sites. The Alamo Plan is moving ahead across several projects, and we’re glad to bring you the latest updates.

The Alamo Is Open For Thanksgiving!

The Alamo is open regular hours from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and throughout the weekend! Like our neighboring businesses, we look forward this holiday weekend to greeting visitors from across Texas and beyond.

This Saturday, November 29, join us after hours for Christmas In The Plaza to experience the iconic site decorated for the holiday season with the traditional Christmas tree in front of the Alamo Church. The festive evening will include pop-up musical performances! The Alamo's holiday season programming is presented in partnership with our neighbors at Old Town Trolley Tours.

Future Alamo Plan Progress

San Antonio Marathon

Please be advised the upcoming San Antonio Marathon events from December 5 through 7 will cause street closures near Alamo Plaza.

Route maps for the marathon, half marathon, and 5K are available online.

Alamo Traffic Advisory

As construction continues in and around the Alamo, vehicle access is closed to ensure public safety and support the progress of ongoing work.

These restrictions are part of the broader effort to transform the Alamo District into a pedestrian-focused space, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for visitors in the years to come.
