We continue to  put in dedicated efforts to bring to life the dynamic new community area, Plaza de Valero, situated in downtown San Antonio.

E. Crockett St. Closure Extension

While we eagerly anticipated the reopening of E. Crockett St. on August 11th, recent developments necessitate an extension of the closure until the morning of August 16th. The necessary work in this area will be conducted on August 14th and 15th. However, we are pleased to announce that both Alamo Plaza and E. Crockett St. will be temporarily accessible to vehicular traffic, commencing today from 5 pm and continuing until Monday at 7 am. We understand that this extension might come as a disappointment, yet we assure you that it is indispensable to uphold the caliber and safety of the enhancements we are implementing. We greatly appreciate your sustained patience during this period and remain committed to minimizing any inconvenience.

Timeline

  • August 11, 5 pm: Temporary Weekend Access - Alamo Plz and E. Crockett St. are temporarily opened to vehicular traffic until Monday morning, August 14th.
  • August 14, 7 am: Temporary Transition - Alamo Plz. and E. Crockett St. temporarily closes to vehicular traffic until Wednesday morning, August 16th.

Continued Potholing and Investigations

Our commitment to delivering a historically rich and safe environment remains unwavering. The ongoing potholing, archaeological trenching, and historical investigations in Plaza de Valero are progressing well. These steps are essential in preserving the heritage of San Antonio de Valero and creating a lasting tribute to its legacy.

Safety and Accessibility

The safety of our community, visitors, and team members remains our top priority. To ensure everyone's well-being, we've installed a secure perimeter around the active work area. We sincerely thank you for respecting these safety measures and refraining from entering restricted zones. Our collaboration with the City of San Antonio's Right of Way team guarantees continuous access for emergency vehicles, demonstrating our commitment to the safety of our city.
