The Alamo offers 10-week internships year-round to students enrolled in high school, undergraduate, and graduate programs. Our internships offer professional experience in areas of study such as conservation, information technology, marketing, history, accounting and more. Internship availability is dependent on mentor availability and upcoming projects.

Application Timing: Spring - November deadline, Summer - March deadline, Fall - July deadline

Internship Dates: Spring - February to April, Summer - June to July, Fall - September to November

Visitor experience -Help us tell the story of the Alamo through education, audience engagement, and daily operations

FAQs

Does the Alamo offer paid internships?
Our undergraduate internships are unpaid. However, some departments will offer paid internships for students in a graduate program. This is dependent on department need and available resources.

When does the internship begin?
Our internships begin each semester in February, June, and September.

Can I get academic credit for my internship?
It is possible to get academic credit through your university. Policies differ between programs, so check with your professor or academic advisor for details. 

Do interns require visa sponsorship?
A visa is needed in order to legally participate in an internship in the U.S. Unfortunately, we do not currently sponsor H1B visas. 

Is a background or drug test required to do the internship?
We do require a background check to participate in the Alamo internship program, but do not require a drug test.
