Get up close and personal with weapons and historic artifacts from the Alamo while tasting whiskey and enjoying light bites at Bohanan's. Alamo historical research and curation staff will present a collection of weapons from the Alamo Collection and recount tales from the epic battle. These artifacts provide a tangible connection to the past, offering guests a glimpse into the tools and tactics used during this pivotal moment in Texas history.
In the 1800s, Americans drank whiskey like water. It sold for twenty-five cents a gallon, making it cheaper than beer, wine, coffee, tea, or milk. Guests at this event will enjoy whiskey tastings from an array of Texas distilleries, including two located just steps from the Alamo: Devils River and Maverick Distillery. Alongside these fine whiskey tastings, the evening features handcrafted whiskey cocktails and unique culinary offerings from legendary Bohanan’s chef, Mark Bohanan.
This event will take place at Bohanan's Prime Steaks and Seafood, located at 219 E. Houston Street in downtown San Antonio. Bohanan's is a short 6-8 minute walk from the Alamo.
All proceeds benefit the Remember the Alamo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that provides support exclusively for the Alamo and its preservation, educational outreach, and public programs.
