Marking the Texas Centennial

Did you know that the Alamo's beautiful grounds were originally designed to celebrate the Texas Centennial? At that time, the old route of the acequia irrigation ditch was restored and today, this tranquil water feature is home to koi, which are popular with many visitors.

Today, the gardens also feature some of San Antonio's oldest and most beautiful trees, from snarled live oaks to stately pecans.
