Now open! The Alamo Promenade serves as a vibrant and welcoming gateway to the Alamo grounds from Commerce Street, inviting guests into one of the most sacred and visited sites in Texas. Designed with both function and reverence in mind, the Promenade improves pedestrian access and circulation, guiding visitors toward the Alamo Church, Plaza de Valero, and the future Visitor Center and Museum.
A highlight of the Promenade is a trail of statues that weaves through the landscape, leading toward the nearby Briscoe Western Art Museum and creating a powerful connection between these two cultural destinations. These statues pay tribute to key figures in Texas history and offer moments for reflection and education along the journey.
The Promenade features wide walkways, native plantings, shaded seating areas, and interpretive elements that enrich the visitor experience. It will also enhance accessibility for all guests, offering a dignified and inviting entry point for the 2.5 million people projected to visit annually once the Alamo Plan is complete.
More than a passageway, the Alamo Promenade is a place of arrival, orientation, and connection—a thoughtful prelude to exploring the historic heart of Texas that is The Alamo.
