After the Battle of the Alamo, just a few survivors remained to share the story. Their firsthand accounts quickly spread across Texas and the United States. In this pre-digital era, the stories evolved to include some of the myths, legends, and tall tales we still hear today. Explore these stories during an after-hours guided walking tour through the outdoor battlefield, iconic Alamo Church, and the Alamo Exhibit at the Ralston Family Collections Center.
The most memorable stories are not always the truth. Did Travis draw a line in the sand? Did Bowie defend himself from his sick bed with pistols and a knife? We will present the most famous legends and discuss their place in the real story.
This experience is about one hour in duration with a guided walking tour and time for Q&A. Your tour includes entry into the Church and the Alamo Exhibit in the Ralston Family Collections Center where you can explore artifacts from the Phil Collins Collection, the Donald and Louise Yena Spanish Colonial Collection, and more. Immerse yourself in 10,000 square feet of new gallery space with more than 500 artifacts – many on display for the first time!
