The Alamo will host a rededication ceremony for the Alamo Cenotaph, also known as the Spirit of Sacrifice monument, on Veterans Day following the completion of its much-needed preservation. This event marks the 85th anniversary of the Cenotaph’s original dedication, which also took place on Veterans Day in 1940 to honor the memory of the Alamo Defenders.
Speakers at the ceremony include Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., the Honorable Hope Andrade, President and CEO of Alamo Trust, Inc., and Ernesto Rodriguez, Alamo Senior Historian. The public is invited to attend.
