The Alamo has long served as a place of community and gathering, holding an iconic place in Texas history. It also occupies a unique role in popular culture, having appeared in numerous television shows and films—including Walt Disney’s Davy Crockett: King of the Wild Frontier and the eponymous movies released in 1960 and 2004, among others.

Join the Alamo Education Team for Teach the Alamo: Lasting Legacy—a professional development workshop for teachers that will focus on why the Alamo still matters today—what it means, how we think about it, and how that has changed over time.

Teachers receive a 6 CPE certificate upon participation. There is a one-hour break for lunch on your own.
