Several excavation units have been opened inside the Alamo Church, with the final units inside the Long Barrack nearly complete.
Construction on the sloping of the curbs in front of the Alamo Church will finish this week. Most of the fencing in front of the Church today will be removed, with a small fenced-area remaining this week to install hand rails to enhance visitor accessibility. The installation of the hand rails will be finished before Thanksgiving.
The installation of the security bollards is underway in Alamo Plaza, which will make the Alamo a safer and more secure site.
As always, the Alamo remains open to the public during normal visiting hours, and Alamo Plaza remains open to foot traffic.
