The Alamo is proud to announce our "Stories Bigger Than Texas" podcast has been nationally recognized by the 31st Annual Communicator Awards as the "Award of Excellence" winner of Podcast Series from a Cultural Institution, a new category in the prestigious nationwide competition.
The Communicator Awards are sanctioned and reviewed by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts, an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed brand and media, interactive, advertising, and marketing firms. The Alamo was honored alongside notable recipients including Netflix, NBCUniversal, and the Getty Museum.
As the official podcast of the Shrine of Texas Liberty, "Stories Bigger Than Texas" is an audio storytelling journey featuring in-depth conversations about the Alamo's past, present, and future. Since its launch in September 2023, the podcast has released 83 episodes, with topics ranging from the Alamo's rich 300-year history, the progression of the $550 million Alamo Plan, and newly-acquired artifacts in the Alamo's collection.
"Stories Bigger Than Texas" is hosted by Emily Baucum, an EMMY® and Associated Press-wining storyteller with two decades of television and broadcasting experience, most recently here in San Antonio. She currently serves as the Associate Director of Public Relations at the Alamo.
