The Alamo will host a special press event on Thursday, October 2, 2025, to officially launch History Heroes, a statewide initiative that invites Texas students, families, and schools to help preserve the historic Alamo through student-led fundraising and classroom engagement. The campaign encourages young Texans to take part in protecting and promoting one of the state’s most cherished historic sites, while earning school prizes, individual rewards, and unforgettable experiences along the way.

The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. in front of the historic Alamo Church. A keynote address will be delivered by Texas Commissioner of Education Mike Morath. Dr. Kate Rogers, President and CEO of Alamo Trust, Inc., will also share remarks about the History Heroes campaign and the impact students can have across all 254 Texas counties. Students and educators from across the region will be in attendance.

The campaign, which runs from October 2, 2025, to April 21, 2026, follows the timeline of the Texas Revolution, from the Battle of Gonzales to the final victory at San Jacinto. Every dollar raised will directly support the Remember the Alamo Foundation’s preservation work, helping ensure the Alamo is protected and shared with future generations.
