The Alamo welcomes you to learn about and celebrate Tejanos' contributions to the Texas Revolution at Tejanos At The Alamo, a free, family-friendly event.

Taking place on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the event will feature local cultural organizations, descendant groups, living historians and more throughout the Alamo grounds.

Standout highlights include the following programming in Plaza de Valero, the Alamo's public park in front of the historic Menger Hotel:

  • Musket Firing Demonstrations at 10:30 a.m.
  • Seguin High School mariachi performance at 11 a.m.
  • Danzavida De San Antonio Dance Company Ballet Folklorico performance at 12:30 p.m.

From early San Antonio settlers to Texas Revolutionaries like Toribio Losoya, Gregorio Esparza, and Juan Seguin, Tejanos At The Alamo will highlight the many important Tejano figures who have made an indelible impact on the Alamo and the larger San Antonio community.

The event continues our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, observed from September 15 to October 15 each year in the United States. The time period encompasses the independence anniversaries of seven Latin American countries, including Mexico.

Join us for this special event showcasing the Alamo's full 300-year history!
