The Alamo is thrilled to announce a $5 million commitment from the Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation. The largest charitable donation ever made to Remember The Alamo Foundation, this five-year pledge will begin this year and end in 2026 during the 100th anniversary of the Texas Cavaliers.

The generous grant will fund the development of the Texas Cavaliers Education Center, which will serve as a home for all Alamo education programing. It will feature a field trip hub, state-of-the-art technology, classrooms for school children and educator workshops, a lecture space, a distance learning studio, a 50,000 piece model of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo made from LEGO bricks, and more.

"Very few organizations have worked to preserve the history of the Alamo as much and for as long as the Texas Cavaliers," Kate Rogers said, Executive Director of The Alamo Trust, Inc. "It would be difficult to quantify the true impact that they have had as an organization since they were formed nearly 100 years ago. With this extremely generous gift, we have an opportunity to bring Texas history to life for students in ways that no classroom can and in a setting unlike any other place of learning."

Design of the Texas Cavaliers Education Center will begin immediately, and a phased construction will begin later this year. The Texas Cavaliers Education Center is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2023 and will reside where the current Alamo Annex and Alamo Hall are today.
