The Alamo is pleased to announce Salute to Texas, a fundraiser presented by USAA and the Welcome Group. This exclusive evening event will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, and will offer guests the opportunity to celebrate Texas Independence Day at the Shrine of Texas Liberty while supporting the Remember the Alamo Foundation.

The evening will feature a delicious array of Texas cuisine by Don Strange of Texas, Texas Bourbon cocktails by Garrison Brothers Distillery, and live entertainment from country music singer, songwriter, actor, and nine-time Grammy Award winner, Ray Benson with Asleep at the Wheel, as well as surprise, legendary Tex-Mex musical guests.

“We are thrilled to present this special evening to celebrate Texas Independence and raise funds for the Remember the Alamo Foundation,” said Dr. Kate Rogers, Executive Director of Alamo Trust, Inc. “This is a unique opportunity for our guests to experience the Collector's Journey at the new Alamo Collections Center and immerse themselves in 10,000 square feet of new gallery space with approximately 500 artifacts – many on display for the first time.”

Salute to Texas will also provide a first look at the Phil Collins Collection – priceless artifacts gifted to the State of Texas by musician and historian, Phil Collins. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to explore artifacts from the Donald and Louise Yena Spanish Colonial Collection, Alamo Collection, interactive exhibits, and more.

“USAA has called San Antonio and Texas our home since our founding, more than 100 years ago,” said USAA CEO Wayne Peacock. “The Alamo is central to the history of this great state and our city, and USAA is proud to partner with the Welcome Group to celebrate that history.”

“We are honored to have USAA and the Welcome Group as our presenting sponsors for this special event,” continued Dr. Rogers. “Their support, along with the support of all of our sponsors, will make Salute to Texas a night to remember at the Alamo.”

Texas Chic attire is encouraged for the evening. Tickets are $250 per person and can be purchased through the Alamo website.
