Immortal 32 Ceremony in front of the Alamo

On March 1st, 2024, the Alamo will host a significant and extraordinary commemoration ceremony from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This year, the event takes on an added layer of historical significance as we celebrate the legendary arrival of the "Immortal 32" during the time when the Travis Letter is back on the grounds of the Alamo, marking only its second return since it was written in 1836.

Step back in time to that pivotal moment when 32 valiant men from Gonzales responded to William Barret Travis' urgent call, bravely crossing enemy lines to reinforce the defenders at the Alamo. This year's commemoration is not just a remembrance but a vibrant and poignant celebration of their unyielding spirit and sacrifice, made even more significant with the presence of the Travis Letter in the Ralston Family Collections Center.

We are honored to have special guests to amplify the spirit of this event. Mayor S.H. "Steve" Sucher of Gonzales will deliver an impassioned address. At the same time, the Gonzales Crystal Theatre's The Young Texians will perform patriotic songs, paying homage to the heroes of the Alamo in a tribute that promises to stir the soul.

The event is open to all - history buffs, families, and anyone drawn to the rich tapestry of Texas history. It offers a unique opportunity to witness history come to life, not only through the story of the "Immortal 32" but also through the rare presence of the Travis Letter, exhibited at the Alamo Exhibit.

Don't miss this chance to be part of a day that is not only historical but also deeply emotional and inspiring. Join us in honoring the bravery and sacrifice of the "Immortal 32" against the backdrop of one of the most iconic documents in Texas history.
