On March 5, 2022, Garrison Brothers Distillery, the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas, hosted Salud to the Lone Star,  their annual fundraiser to celebrate Texas Independence Day, the anniversary of our first release, and benefit the Remember The Alamo Foundation.

Hosted in Hye, Texas on the 68-acre cattle ranch and distillery, the annual fundraiser attracted over 500 attendees to celebrate all things Texas for a fun all-day affair. The event’s proceeds were donated entirely to the Remember the Alamo Foundation to aid in its mission to preserve The Alamo and its 300-year history. The celebration’s fundraising efforts included a live auction with Dan Garrison and his team auctioning off one of the most coveted bottles of Garrison Brothers’ most exclusive releases, Hye Rye. The bottle went for a whopping $12,000. Other fun auction items included custom Garrison Brothers cornhole tables and limited-edition artwork by Texas born artists.

"We are proud to be able to have raised over $50,000 for the Remember The Alamo Foundation at Garrison Brothers’ Texas Independence Day celebration. This is the biggest amount that we have ever raised for a charity at our Distillery. We believe in their mission and so do our bourbon drinkers,” shares Rob Cordes, Head Marketing Dude, Garrison Brothers Distillery.

Throughout the day, guests enjoyed live music by Jake McLain and Matt Creaton, lunch from Chef Jack and his team, and cocktails from on-site restaurant the Whiskey Shack. For the special event, Garrison Brothers and The Alamo created 250-limited edition Single Barrel special commemorative bottles and were available at San Antonio’s Alamo City Liquor Stores, donating 100% of the proceeds to the Remember The Alamo Foundation.

"Thank you to Garrison Brothers Distillery for hosting their annual Texas Independence Day Celebration, and graciously donating this year's event and their commemorative bottle proceeds to The Alamo," said Kate Rogers, Executive Director of the Alamo Trust Inc. "We are deeply honored and appreciate their continued support to help preserve the Shrine of Texas Liberty for future generations."

On April 27, 2022, Garrison Brothers Distillery’s Dan Garrison and Rob Cordes joined Kate Rogers and Sheila Mayfield from the Remember the Alamo Foundation for a check presentation at The Alamo. The super-sized donation was accompanied by a super-sized check proudly displaying Garrison Brothers Distillery’s fundraising efforts. Photos of the presentation can be found here.

About Garrison Brothers Distillery | Garrison Brothers Distillery is a small farm and ranch located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country that authentically produces straight bourbon whiskey. Garrison Brothers introduced the first bourbon whiskey legally made in Texas in 2010 and has since developed a rabid fan base. They currently have a waitlist of more than 18,000 just to volunteer on bottling days, and their Cowboy Bourbon™ normally sells out within hours of its release. Garrison Brothers is the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas history and is one of the first distilleries in America outside of Kentucky to produce authentic, handmade bourbon whiskey—and only bourbon whiskey. The business was founded in 2006.

Every expression of Garrison Brothers bourbon is made from a sweet mash bill and barrel-aged in the intense Texas climate. The extreme heat creates multiple aging seasons in a year, resulting in a darker, richer, and fuller bourbon; bolder than almost any other bourbon on the market.

At the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2021, Garrison Brothers’ Laguna Madre was awarded the Double Gold Medal along with one Silver Medal for Single Barrel and three Bronze Medals. For the Denver International Spirits Competition, Garrison Brothers won Best of Show for 2021, taking 1st place for their Cowboy Bourbon.  Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible awarded “American Micro Whiskey of the Year to Balmorhea Twice-Barreled Bourbon for 2019, 2020 and 2021. Garrison Brothers was voted Best Craft Whiskey Distillery in America by readers of USA Today in 2017.

Garrison Brothers is a proud and active member of the communities of Blanco, Fredericksburg, Hye, Johnson City, and Stonewall. The distillery and its barrel barns are open to the public for tours in Hye, Texas.
