The Alamo invites the public to join in the Texas Independence Day Celebration, presented in partnership with the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Alamo Mission Chapter. This event honors the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence on March 2, 1836, a pivotal moment in the fight for Texas’ freedom.
Visitors can enjoy live period music and Living History demonstrations, offering a glimpse into early 19th-century Texas. Historical interpreters will bring the past to life with engaging demonstrations, providing a unique opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of Texas’ struggle for independence at one of the state’s most iconic landmarks.
Adding to the celebration, South San High School will present performances and demonstrations featuring their marching band, cheerleaders, dance team, JROTC, and mariachi band. These performances will take place from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Plaza de Valero, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.
This event is free and open to the public.
