Army soldiers marching in front of the Alamo with rifles facing the sky

Join us at The Alamo on April 25 for Army Day.

The Alamo and the U.S. Army have a longstanding partnership dating back more than 175 years. When Texas joined the United States, The Alamo served as an Army outpost and depot for the next 30 years. During that time, the Army added The Alamo's famous bell-shaped top, completing the church's walls and roof.

The annual U.S. Army Day highlights the presence of the Army and its forces in San Antonio. Enjoy patriotic music and a glimpse of the life in the Army brought to you buy some of the service's premier performing groups. The event is free and open to the public.

During Fiesta, it is tradition for military representatives throughout San Antonio to participate in receptions, parades, pilgrimages and memorials.
