The Alamo is excited to announce that applications open TODAY for two free, immersive educational travel opportunities designed exclusively for Texas teachers. These trips, part of the Alamo Teacher Institute, offer a unique chance to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits while exploring some of the most significant historical sites related to Texas and Mexico’s shared history. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of donors to Remember the Alamo Foundation.
The Texas Revolution Road Trip, taking place April 25-26, 2025, invites educators on an overnight journey to explore key sites of the Texas Revolution. Stops include Presidio La Bahía in Goliad, the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site, and the San Jacinto Battlefield during the San Jacinto Day reenactment and festivities. Participants will gain 12 CPE credits and enjoy fully funded travel, lodging, site admissions, and meals.
For those looking to explore Texas and Mexico’s shared heritage, the Mexico City Summer Teacher Institute runs June 15-21, 2025. This five-day immersive trip will take teachers to historic landmarks such as Chapultepec Castle, the National Anthropology Museum, and the Museum of Interventions. Participants will earn 30 CPE credits while benefiting from fully covered airfare, accommodations, and guided excursions.
“These immersive learning experiences are designed to provide educators with a deeper connection to history that they can bring back to their classrooms,” said Dr. Kate Rogers, Executive Director of the Alamo Trust, Inc. “By helping teachers experience the history of Texas and its ties to Mexico firsthand, we aim to enrich the education of thousands of students across the state.”
Competitive Application Process
Space for each trip is limited, and applications will close on February 17, 2025. Selected participants will be notified by March 5, 2025.
