The Board of Directors of Alamo Trust, Inc. has named Former Secretary of State Hope Andrade the organization’s next President and CEO. The action follows the resignation of Kate Rogers effective immediately. Andrade will step down from her volunteer positions on the Alamo Trust, Inc. (ATI) and Remember the Alamo Foundation (RTAF) Boards to assume this position overseeing a staff of over 200.
Andrade’s appointment is welcomed by those who have dedicated years to the Alamo project. She has served on the ATI and RTAF Boards since 2015 and has worked closely with state and local leaders throughout the development of the Alamo Plan, including the architectural design phase and the execution of construction. Andrade, a devout economic development champion, knows the value of the Alamo as a historical landmark and as our state’s most treasured Shrine of Texas Liberty and as a San Antonio institution known around the world.
“The Board's unanimous vote in naming Hope as our next leader is no surprise,” said ATI Board Chair Welcome Wilson, Jr. “She is a steady hand, knows what needs to be done, and has the confidence of our benefactors, donors, and local and state leadership involved in the project,” he said. “As someone who has served with her during her entire tenure on these Boards, I have always known of her strong leadership, her ability to bring people together to get a job done, and I couldn’t be more proud that she accepted this role,” he said.
“The ATI Board would like to thank Kate for her leadership and service to both Alamo Trust, Inc. and Remember the Alamo Foundation. We wish Kate success in her future endeavors,” Wilson said.
Andrade, a well-known business and civic leader, has served on a variety of local, regional and state boards. At the state level, she has served as Texas Secretary of State, Chair of the Texas Transportation Commission and as Texas Workforce Commissioner.
Andrade begins her new duties immediately.
