In 2018, San Antonio will celebrate its 300th anniversary, and as part of that celebration, the Alamo is excited to announce the Alamo Tricentennial Lecture Series!
Each month, the Alamo will bring you experts who will explore the events, people, and themes that shaped the history of the Alamo, San Antonio, and Texas.
Though famous before coming to San Antonio, David Crockett ensured that he would be remembered throughout the generations when he entered the walls of the Alamo. As a man who often encouraged the exaggeration of his reputation, it can be difficult to separate fact from fiction. In this lecture, we will explore the myths, legends, and truth of this great man.
Machia McClenny graduated with a BA in Liberal Studies from Flordia College in 2011 and completed her MS in Library Science from the University of North Texas in 2013. Machaia worked as both a teacher and a school librarian, and in 2016, she was given the opportunity to work at the Alamo as our Education Specialist.
The event is $15 and includes a Jason's Deli lunch box.
