Close up of colorful, floral wreath in front of the Alamo Church

The Daughters of the Republic of Texas Alamo Mission Chapter Pilgrimage began in 1918 as a tribute to the fallen soldiers of the Battle of the Alamo on San Jacinto Day. This year, there will be no organized processional from the Tobin Center Vietnam Memorial and no program or wreath laying ceremony at the Alamo. Individuals and/or groups may make a private “pilgrimage” by bringing wreaths to the Alamo between 8:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. Alamo Rangers will assist with placing the wreaths on the grass.

This Personal Pilgrimage will take place in lieu of the 103rd Annual Pilgrimage to honor the Heroes of the Alamo. Due to the pandemic and the cancelling of Fiesta, those interested in placing a wreath on the Green in front of the Alamo Church in honor of the Battle of San Jacinto and our fallen soldiers at the Battle of the Alamo are welcome.
