The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Inc. (DRT) depend solely upon money from sales in its Gift Shop and donations from individuals and private foundations to fund its educational programming and general operation. The DRT receives no monetary help from local, state or federal government. The DRT, a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt organization, has served as custodian of the Alamo for the State of Texas since 1905.
