There were at least 18 women and children that survived
the Battle of the Alamo. Most of them were found in the church
after the battle. The women were given a blanket and two
pesos. They were then allowed to leave. They are responsible
for spreading the word that the Alamo had fallen. After this
news spread, men began to rally to the cause and the Texian
Army grew.
